Actress and comedian B. Simone has opened an all-female co-working space in Atlanta alongside her marketing manager Mary Seats.
From Instagram, Wild N Out, going on comedy tours, and more, there’s nothing B. Simone can’t accomplish in the name of a bag. If you haven’t heard of her, then bayyyybeee boyyy, you’re missing out. Her latest business move is the launch of an all-female co-working space called The Bakery, which will house a public working space for female entrepreneurs, as well as her business “B. Simone Beauty” and Seats’ co-marketing firm “The Icing Agency.”
The space will be decked out in all pink, and female entrepreneurs will be able to work on their own business with the help of The Bakery’s in-house photography sessions, green screen videography, executive offices, and retail spaces. In addition, Simone is now a best-selling author for her hit book “BabyGirl: Manifest The Life You Want.” The book pushed Simone into millionaire status from its stellar sales.
“Surround yourself with a team of people who see your vision and help you execute. If you’re a new entrepreneur without a payroll budget, get creative. there was a point where I needed help, but I couldn’t pay people. When you’re at that point, you can barter. There’s always something you can bring to the table,” says B. Simone.
Through the years, Seats has worked with B. Simone as her manager and marketing and brand strategist. Seats reportedly dedicated her life to helping craft B. Simone’s career without any payment for a year. Aside from B. Simone, Seats has worked with a slew of clients in the industry. She opened her first business, Cupcake Mafia, in 2011, with only $300 in her bank account, which has now grown into a million-dollar company.
“You can be a mom, a wife, or whatever it is you want to be. I used to want to find a poster woman for the ideal mom, wife, and unstoppable girl boss – and I honestly I couldn’t find it. So, I became it,” Seats told Black Enterprise. Both women came together to build The Bakery based off their mission of empowering women.
Congrats, B. Simone and Mary Seats!
