December 27th marks the final New Music Friday of the year and while it is largely a quiet one, several artists delivered quality music to take us into the New Year.
Ice Spice returned with the deluxe version of her debut album, “Y2K.” The project includes five new singles and features from DaBaby, NLE Choppa, and Anuel AA. The album was initially introduced in July, debuting at No. 18 on the Billboard 200. With new cuts added, “Y2K” could climb the charts once again.
Rapper Kodak Black produced a surprise drop on Christmas titled “Gift for the Streets.” The 12-track holiday mixtape includes notable features B.G., Lil Yachty, Rob49, and more. Incarcerated rapper C-Murder also makes an appearance on the track, “Penitentiary.” C-Murder is currently serving a life sentence stemming from a 2002 murder, though he maintains his innocence.
This New Music Friday may not have anything new from our favorite artists, though the handful of new releases are worth a spin to start your weekend.
