From Drake and Gunna to Afrobeats: Barack Obama Drops His 2025 Playlist and It’s Way Colder Than Expected

Barack Obama has once again shared his highly anticipated year-end music playlist, revealing his favorite songs and albums of 2025.

The former president’s list includes standout tracks from some of today’s biggest artists. On the 2025 playlist, Obama highlighted multiple songs from different genres, but some stood out more than others.

Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” Drake’s “Nokia,” and Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s hit “Luther” were at the top of the list. Fans also noticed appearances from Burna Boy and Travis Scott, Olamide, as well as Chance the Rapper. Gunna’s “Just Say Dat” also made the cut.

As usual, Obama’s list features a few unexpected picks, including selections that may have come from his children’s recommendations. This year’s playlist reflects Obama’s continued appreciation for artists who push creative boundaries while maintaining mass appeal.

From pop anthems to rap collaborations and Afrobeats rhythms, the collection showcases a wide spectrum of sounds that defined 2025 in music.
