In the wake of the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris last week, people are more on edge now than ever. When it was discovered that three of the eight terrorists in the Paris attacks were tied to Belgium, there was increased scrutiny of potential terrorist activity within the country, which inevitably led to people making false accusations about those who look “suspicious”.
Belgian soccer player Radja Nainggolan apparently fits the description of a terrorist. at least according to a couple who was staying at the Radisson Hotel in Antwerp, a big city in Belgium. The couple saw Nainggolan, who was hanging out with his family at the hotel, and thought he looked suspicious because of his tattoos and hat. They proceeded to call the cops to report a possible terrorist suspect. However, when the cops arrived, they recognized the 27-year-old soccer star right away and realized that it was all one big mix-up.
“Apparently, I have a scary look,” Nainggolan said after the whole situation was over. “Fortunately the police recognized me immediately.”
Nainggolan didn’t let the unfortunate incident get to him though. Instead, he laughed it off and even posed for a photo with the cops before they left.
