Famed “Golden Girls” actress Betty White has passed away at 99 years old, TMZ reports.
Law enforcement sources confirmed White died at her home Friday morning, just weeks before her milestone birthday. She was expected to turn 100 on January 17.
Prior to her death, the legendary actress had the longest-running tv career of any entertainer, expanding more than eight-decades. She began her career in 1939 and starred in multiple shows such as The Golden Girls” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”.
White was recently featured on PEOPLE’s cover ahead of her 100th birthday. The cultural icon expressed to the outlet how excited she was to be hitting such a milestone, saying, I’m so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age,” she stated. “It’s amazing.”
