Beyoncé is once again stepping up in a big way. On Sunday, her BeyGOOD foundation announced a massive $2.5 million donation to the newly established L.A. Fire Relief Fund. The fund, created by the singer’s charitable organization, aims to support families and communities devastated by the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.
“Los Angeles, we stand with you,” BeyGOOD shared on Instagram alongside the announcement. “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars.”
According to the foundation, the fund is focused on aiding families in the Altadena and Pasadena areas who have lost their homes. Additionally, support will be directed toward churches and community centers to address immediate needs such as food, clothing, and shelter for those impacted by the disaster.
Beyoncé also encouraged her fans to visit the BeyGOOD website to learn more about the foundation’s efforts and to contribute to the relief fund, stating, “Every bit of support makes a difference in times like these.”
The donation comes as the death toll from the wildfires continues to rise. On Sunday evening, the L.A. County Medical Examiner confirmed that 24 people have lost their lives due to the fires, with 16 fatalities reported in the Eaton fire zone and eight in the Palisades area.
The fires, which began on January 7, have burned more than 23,000 acres in Los Angeles County, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. With only 11% containment of the Palisades fire, the situation remains dire. L.A. County Sheriff Robert Luna shared during a news conference that at least 16 people are still reported missing.
Beyoncé’s donation is part of a broader wave of celebrity support for those impacted by the disaster. Stars such as Tika Sumpter, Halle Berry, and Paris Hilton have stepped forward with personal contributions to help alleviate the devastation. Despite losing her Malibu home in the flames, Hilton donated $100,000 to wildfire relief efforts and pledged to match up to $100,000 in additional donations.
Eva Longoria also expressed her heartbreak over the wildfires, donating $50,000 to the organization This Is About Humanity, which provides aid to affected families. In an emotional Instagram video, she urged people to focus on the immediate crisis rather than assigning blame, saying, “We’ve got to get a hold of the situation right now.”
