Latto is officially in album mode, and her fans cannot contain their excitement.
On Wednesday, the rapper shared the trailer for her long-awaited “Sugar Honey Iced Tea” project. The visual is heavily inspired by the 2006 comedy “ATL,” with Latto presumably taking on Lauren London’s famed role as “New New.” The clip attracted over 100,000 likes on Instagram, with countless comments praising the beginning of her rollout. The video features guest appearances from T.I., the star of “ATL” and 2Chainz.
“Sugar Honey Iced Tea” is set to make its debut on August 9th, over two years since her last album, “777,” which spawned hits “Big Energy” and “It’s Givin.” The album peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200 and went on to become certified gold. Latto has been keeping her fans fed with singles, “Put It On Da Floor” and most recently, “Big Mama.” Therefore, news of an album was expected, and her supporters are eager to hear this latest full body of work.

It’s unknown how many features Latto will have on her album. However, there will be a guest appearance from Playboi Carti, as he was heard in a short snippet in the trailer. It appears the record is called “Blick Sum.”
