L.A. street figure Big U plans to represent himself in his federal RICO case after his lawyer backed out.

Attorney Arturo Hernandez filed to drop him as a client, blaming a total breakdown in trust and communication.

Big U, also known as Eugene Henley Jr., has been in federal lockup since March 19, and he told the court he doesn’t have the money to hire a new attorney.

Back on March 17, Big U and 18 others allegedly tied to the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips got hit with a massive federal indictment.

The charges include: murder, robbery, drug trafficking, money laundering, and more. Prosecutors say the crew ran a violent operation and used social media to control territory in L.A.

The feds also say Big U used his non-profit, Developing Options, to launder money and hide shady business moves.

One of the biggest claims is that he was involved in the 2021 killing of rapper Rayshawn Williams, who was signed to his label.

As of now, no further details have been provided. But his trial is set for May 2026.
