BigXthaPlug’s album drop was supposed to be a celebration. Instead, it turned into a dramatic night, ending with his arrest.
The rapper was pulled over early Friday morning by Dallas police after officers spotted his vehicle missing a front license plate. According to a report by TMZ, the routine stop quickly escalated when law enforcement discovered marijuana and a firearm in the car. Police arrested him and charged him with two misdemeanors: unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana. He was booked into Dallas County Jail and later appeared in court on Friday afternoon. Thankfully, his team confirmed he has since been released. This is BigX’s second arrest in months. He was previously taken into custody back in February for marijuana possession.
At just 27 years old, BigX has become one of Texas’s rising rap voices. His highly anticipated album, “I Hope You’re Happy,” also dropped Friday. The project mixes country vibes with street bars and was expected to make waves across streaming platforms.
Now, instead of focusing on radio interviews and fan engagement, BigX has legal matters to address.
BigX has not addressed the arrest publicly.
