Bishop Talbert Swan is beloved across social media for several reasons, including his willingness to get folks together in the name of Jesus and social change.
The adored bishop has been overseeing churches for years, serving as a youth pastor at Spring of Hope Church Of God In Christ before establishing the Solid Rock Church Of God In Christ in 1994. Eventually, the ministries were merged in January 2009, with Swan being named head pastor in May 2009. In addition to preaching the word on Sundays, Swan is currently the President of the Greater Springfield NAACP. He has secured several honors, such as the Social Justice Award for Race Relations by Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services, the Civil Rights Advocacy Award by the National Action Network, and the NAACP James F. Hennessey Award for his work in civil rights advocacy, to name a few.
Swan frequently steps out of the pulpit to get in the field. If there is a social injustice taking place or a racist person slamming African Americans, Swan is typically on the scene, standing up for our people while spreading the word.
