Two of three Black girls accused of committing a hate crime and making anti-white comments toward a white woman have been arrested.
At around 6:50 p.m. on July 9, three girls and the alleged victim, Jill LeCroix, 57, were riding a southbound MTA bus in Queens, New York, when the group got into a “verbal dispute.”
“Before they hit me, the girl with the green hair said, ‘You probably like Trump! Don’t you?’ LeCroix recalled. “I said, ‘I love him.’ I didn’t see which one hit me first.”
The woman then said one of the girls yelled out, “I hate White people. I hate the way they talk,” according to CNN affiliate WCBS-TV.
According to a news release, the girls then threw an object at the woman, which led to a laceration and bleeding. The girls reportedly left the scene, CNN reports. The woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.
Two of the minors, 15 and 16, have been arrested and charged with hate crimes. Police are still looking for the third child. The NYPD claims in the city, there have been 35 hate crimes against Black people, 51 against Asians and 149 hate crimes committed against Jewish people. One hate crime has been committed against a white person.
