#LOS ANGELES, CA - APRIL 22: Blake Griffin #32 of the Los Angeles Clippers dunks between Kawhi Leonard #2 and Tiago Splitter #22 of the San Antonio Spurs during the first half of Game Two of the Western Conference quarterfinals of the 2015 NBA Playoffs at Staples Center on April 22, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. The number one pick of the 2009 NBA draft announced Tuesday that he would be retiring from basketball. Blake Griffin will go down in history as one of the most exciting dunkers to ever play in the Association. After 14 years and four teams, Griffin will retire as the second-highest scorer in Clippers history with 12,735 points.

Blake Griffin has been selected to the all-NBA team five times and has an impressive career average of 19 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in 765 games. Fans are curious whether Griffin will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Despite having some incredible dunks, critics say it is unlikely that he would be a first or second-ballot Hall of Famer. However, there is a chance that he could sneak in one day.

Griffin’s legendary dunks will never be forgotten, so we’ve broken down five of the most historical dunks from Blake Griiffin’s career.

#5 Blake Griffin Dunking on Timofey Mozgov Nov 21, 2010

November 20th, 2010, was one of the first times we saw Griffin take off as he did so often for his home state’s college team, Oklahoma. Mozgov standing at 7’1″ was literally cleared by Griffin for a thunderous dunk in Staples as Jordan pushed him back after the vicious throwdown.

#4 Dunk over the Kia for the Slam Dunk Championship 2011

Blake Griffin won the 2011 slam dunk contest. He brought out a Kia sedan and cleared the hood for a slam and the championship. Griffin did not have as much playoff success as he would hope, but he has legendary moments.

#3 Pau Gasol Baptised By Blake Griffin Apr. 4, 2012

Some nights, we believe that Gasol wakes up in cold sweats, thinking about how Blake not only dunked on him once but destroyed him at the rim twice in two of the most vicious slams ever seen. It was literally 2-0, and off a missed three in the corner, Griffin SOARED through the air to viciously dunk on Gasol. Gasol went flying to the ground. In the middle of the third, Gasol decided to jump at the rim with Griffin and instantly regretted it.

#2 Carry On Kendrick Perkins Jan. 30, 2012

Before the funny jokes and the analysis on ESPN, Perkins was a reliable Center on the defensive side of the ball for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The young Thunder team was down 21 and Kendrick thought it was a good idea to jump into Blake Griffin. He decided to make history and proceeded to try and murder Perkins when he put him on the rim.

#1 Blake Griffin Spinnarooni On Gallinari Nov. 20th, 2010

The Clippers were in a tough game with the New York Knicks down by seven with a little under six minutes to go when Blake picked up a tipped pass. Taking the ball the length of the floor, instead of just going up and drawing a foul, Danillo Gallinari spun and threw down one of the most vicious slams in his career.
