Jay Z Says Daughter Blue Ivy Finally Embraces His Coolness After Prior Doubts [Video]

Blue Ivy Carter finally believes her dad, Jay-Z, is pretty cool.

In a rare interview with Gayle King, the “Blueprint” rapper gave an update about where he currently stands on Blue’s trendiness radar. Luckily for him, the 11-year-old is quite fond of her father’s style now after previously thinking he wasn’t the most rad.

“She used to be frontin’ on me a little bit. But [now] I catch her. I catch her in the corner, you know? Now she asks me, you know, if this is cool, if her sneakers [are cool],” Hov proudly told King. He later added that he playfully tried to get his youngster to realize who her mom and dad were. “I’m cool! You got cool parents! At your house, your parents [are] cool.”

The New York star is not one to conduct many interviews, but in his sit down with King and “CBS Mornings,” he opened up about a number of things, one of which is the viral meeting debate. For years, fans have battled it out over whether or not they’d choose $500,000 or dinner with him. To finally settle the matter, Hov encouraged his fans to indeed take the money if the opportunity ever arose.

“I wouldn’t tell you to cut a bad deal. Like, take the $500,000, go buy some albums, and listen to the albums. It’s all there. If you piece it together and really listen to the music for the words, well, what it is, it’s all there.”
