Rapper Blueface has been ordered to pay over $123,000 in damages to Jackilyn Martinez, the girlfriend of fellow artist Soulja Boy, after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled in her favor in a defamation lawsuit, In Touch reports.
The default judgment was entered during an April 1 hearing, after Blueface, 28, failed to respond to the lawsuit filed in December 2023. Martinez accused the rapper of making false and damaging statements about her on social media, including claims that he was the father of her child.
The court awarded Martinez $100,000 in non-economic damages, $18,000 in special damages, plus $3,070 in attorney fees and $2,173 in legal costs. The judge declined to award punitive damages.
The case stemmed from a social media dispute between Blueface and Soulja Boy, during which Blueface claimed he had a sexual encounter with Martinez in March 2022, just before her baby shower. He also implied on X (formerly Twitter) that he could be the father of her child.
Martinez strongly denied the claims in her lawsuit, stating she had not been in contact with Blueface since a single protected sexual encounter in 2018. She provided a declaration and noted that a DNA test confirmed Soulja Boy is the biological father of her child.
Despite sending Blueface a cease and desist letter, Martinez said the rapper did not take down the posts and instead continued making dismissive remarks online, at one point claiming he didn’t even know who she was.
Martinez also said the online attention led to death threats from users on social media, prompting her to file a police report in December.
In her suit, she cited ongoing emotional distress including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and physical symptoms like insomnia and nausea. She initially sought $10 million in damages.
Blueface, currently serving a four-year prison sentence for probation violations, did not respond to the lawsuit, leading to the default ruling.
Meanwhile, Soulja Boy is also entangled in a separate $10 million civil trial brought by another woman alleging assault and false imprisonment — claims he has denied.
