Blueface might be out of the slammer, but he is definitely not out of the woods when it comes to his mounting legal troubles.
While the “Thotiana” rapper has been busy navigating his complicated love life and a return to the spotlight, a major financial blow is looming over his music catalog. Jackilyn Martinez, the mother of Soulja Boy’s child, has successfully moved to have Blueface’s music royalties seized after the rapper failed to pay up on a massive defamation judgment.
The drama dates back to a messy 2023 online feud, where Blueface claimed on social media that Martinez’s two-year-old son was actually his. Martinez didn’t take the disrespect lightly and slapped him with a defamation lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court. Because Blueface reportedly ignored the legal proceedings entirely, a default judgment was entered against him.
What started as a $123,245 award has now ballooned to a staggering $131,655 due to interest as of Wednesday, December 24.
With the bill still unpaid, Martinez’s legal team is moving full steam ahead to collect. Judge Peter Hernandez has reportedly signed off on an order requiring performing rights organizations ASCAP and BMI to redirect any royalties collected on the rapper’s behalf straight to Martinez. This move ensures that as long as Blueface’s music is being played, the coins are going toward settling his debt.
While Blueface’s recent stint behind bars certainly made it harder for him to handle his business, the court isn’t waiting around for him to get his house in order. On Christmas Eve, Martinez’s attorneys reportedly filed writs of execution with sheriffs in both Los Angeles and Sacramento counties to move the collection process forward.
It looks like the price for clout chasing just went up, and Blueface is the one left holding the bill.
