Boosie is keeping an open mind when it comes to a possible Trump pardon.
With less than two weeks left before he’s sentenced in his federal gun case, the Louisiana rapper says he’s staying optimistic and continuing to push for a presidential pardon. While speaking with TMZ in Harlem on Wednesday, Boosie made it clear he hasn’t given up hope.
“I’m still working on it,” he said. “I’m still trying. As you know, my voice is a loud voice. So, I’m still gonna be asking the president for a pardon. Right now, I don’t have it. But, I’m confident about my situation and I feel good about my situation.”
Boosie’s legal battle has been ongoing since 2023, but he pled guilty in August in hopes of moving forward.
“I want to get it behind me and get on with my life,” he said at the time. “A lot of things this case has stopped me from doing, traveling all across the world. So, I just want to get it over with.”
He’s been vocal on social media, urging Trump to intervene. “@realDonaldTrump CAN U PARDON ME ON MY FED CASE?” he posted on X. “I’m a NON VIOLENT FELON… IM FIGHTING THIS CASE!!”
Trump has granted pardons to multiple rappers before, including NBA YoungBoy, Lil Wayne, and Kodak Black. With his sentencing set for November 21, Boosie is holding on to hope that he’ll be next.
