The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman, was heard shouting “Free Palestine” during the attack. He was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody.
The event, organized by “Run for Their Lives,” aimed to raise awareness about Israeli hostages held by Hamas. The FBI is treating the incident as a targeted act of terrorism, citing ideological motivations. Authorities evacuated the area and are investigating a vehicle of interest related to the attack.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis condemned the act as a “heinous act of terror,” emphasizing that hate-filled actions have no place in the state. The attack has raised concerns about rising antisemitic violence in the U.S., especially following recent incidents targeting Jewish communities.
The investigation is ongoing, with local and federal agencies working together to determine the full extent of the incident and any potential connections to broader extremist activities.
