On Tuesday Britney Spears spoke out for the first time regarding an emotional documentary that reflected on some of the most challenging moments of her life as a young popstar.

‘Framing Britney Spears‘ was released last Friday by The New York Times. The doc discusses the conservatorship of the singer and her collapse in the early 2000s.

The singer wrote in a social media post that followed a clip of Spears performing at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin ‘Eve in 2017, “I’ll always love being on stage …but I am taking the time to learn and be a normal person…I love simply enjoying the basics of everyday life!!!”

Spears wrote, obviously referring to the documentary, “Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories !!!! We all have so many different bright beautiful lives !!! Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person’s life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens!!!!”

One of the harsh moments shown in ‘Framing Britney Spears’ is the time that she attacked the paparazzi with an umbrella around the time she shaved her head. When the young star’s life seemed to spiral out of control, the late-night hosts had a field day. At the time, a number of the individuals included in the doc received criticism for their actions towards Spears.
