Burger King might upset some fans after removing their popular Whopper burger from their value menu.
Burger lovers can currently get two Whopper burgers for $5 on their discounted menu. However, due to “the level of commodity cost and labor inflation,” the franchise raises the well-known burger price.
According to BK’s parent company, Restaurant Brands’s Chief Executive Officer Jose Cil, the Whopper burger has “been on this core discount platform for too long.”
The president of Burger King North America, Tom Curtis, does acknowledge that the quarter-pound beef burger “strongest brand equity.” Because of this, Curtis says the company will continue looking for an “opportunity for some incremental discounting there in the future, but it won’t be every day.”
Even though the famous burger is leaving the discounted menu, it’s good to know burger lovers can still expect cheap burger deals in the future.
