Busta Rhymes invited T.I. to a “Verzuz” battle during an Instagram Live interview with Fat Joe, but not-to-be-outdone Jeezy wants an invite too.
The veteran rappers posted their desire to be next up on the Verzuz TV stage just in time for season two.
It all started when Rhymes appeared on IG live with Fat Joe Tuesday night and put the challenge out. “From one brother that loves you, to my brother that knows I love him, I’m begging you to step in the ring with me. I’mma bust your a–,” Rhymes proclaimed.
The legendary Brooklyn rapper made it clear he wants all the smoke, “Let me tell you something, we’re going to do it with grace, but I’mma bust T.I.–I’mma bust your a–,” he continued. “C’mon T.I., let’s have fun.”
Tip, who has been gunning for a Verzuz battle for months, even calling out 50 Cent for a match, seemed to be backing down from a face off in his response to Busta.
Tip responded diplomatically in his post explaining: “So I’ve been seeing all this s— y’all kicking up, man, y’all messy as hell, man Godd—,” he said. “Busta bust, Busta bust. Look, I f— with you Bust, and I respect my elders, man. No cap, I ain’t trying to be funny about it at all, but just speaking honestly.”
The Atlanta rapper didn’t seem to think the match up was a good match for the Verzuz series. “I didn’t know we were reaching back through generations,” he continued. “That’s a huge generational gap in there, isn’t it? I have a huge amount of respect for you, exponential amount of respect for you. You know what I’m saying?”
However, Jeezy stepped in to close the gap with his own post directed at Verzuz creators, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, but clearly meant for his long time rival.
The “Snowman” posted a video stating plainly, “Say bruh- you done been around the whole world on your campaign you know now you back here, I don’t know what you avoiding me for. I’ll tell you what though- since it means that much to you, put a date on it. I ain’t gin’ meet you there, I’mma beat you there”
T.l. responded to Jeezy’s call, commenting “Hmmm 🤔 could this long time constituent of mine be referring to me??? @jeezy”
