You might know Spyder as one of the talented tattoo artists of VH1’s Black Ink Crew, but now he’s looking to broaden his horizons with an all-new podcast titled Ink & Out. Spyder is tattooing some of his favorite people while asking about their life stories.
One of Spyder’s first guests is none other than his Black Ink Crew colleague, Caeser Emanuel. Caeser stopped by Black Ink Brooklyn, where he recounted how he got into tattooing, being on television, and more.
In a teaser for the still unreleased interview, Caeser recounts almost losing the shop just as things were heating up with VH1. Caeser wasn’t about to let that happen and set out to make the money he needed to keep the shop open and land the show.
“They didn’t understand what I had to go through to get f*cking Black Ink,” he explained. “The n*gga sat in the f*ckin’ projects and tatted the whole projects and only got $20,000. Do you know how many tattoos I did, bro? And you know n*ggas ain’t paying no $200 for tattoos. The conditions, everything.”
He added, “You thought this was just glamour and shine from the beginning?”
But despite the dicey beginning, Caeser got it done and has gone on to amass a tattoo empire with shops throughout the country.
The first clip of Ink & Out airs next week. In addition to Caeser, guests this season include the likes of Math Hoffa and Young Joc.
