Rapper-turned-talk show host Cam’ron Giles is adding three new shows to his Come and Talk 2 Me network following the success of his Ma$e-assisted It Is What It Is sports talk show.
The first of the new shows to launch will be Es Lo Que Es, an all-Hispanic sports show focusing on baseball coverage. The show has a few episodes out on YouTube and is hosted by Cuban Hunter, Fidel Gocio, and blogger Loopy.
“I want it to be presented as if we’re giving barbershop talk or block talk you would see in NYC about baseball,” producer BBinc said of the show. “Not only do we want to talk about what’s going on currently, but we would also like to discuss the great moments in the history of the sport. It’ll feel very natural as if you’re drinking a Corona and watching the game with your friends.”
Cam’ron is slated to launch a second show on the network titled Come And Talk 2 Me. On the show, Cam will attempt to help people work on their personal issues, whether it be relationship issues, job troubles, or family issues.
A trailer for the show sees Cam helping a married couple overcome adversities the two are facing since the wife became disabled. The husband has expressed his frustration over caring for his dependent spouse.
Ma$e is also getting another show called Ma$e, Fix My Life, where he focuses on helping people overcome adversity.
Cam said he decided to launch his own media network after trying and failing to work with other networks or shows.
“I have been trying to work with others to be on networks or shows to no avail. I’m forty-seven. I’m tired of waiting for calls back,” he said. “I told myself, ‘Let me take a chance on myself,’ and that’s what I did.”
It Is What It Is debuted in February of 2023 and has garnered millions of views on YouTube. Cam announced shortly after the show’s release that networks immediately wanted to sign the wildly successful show.
At the time, the Dipset rapper explained that he fully funded the show and he was enjoying the creative freedom. He described the terms in which he would consider a deal: offer him something he doesn’t already have.
“They came and did all this shit and y’all gonna have to offer something I ain’t got,” he explained. “Now you don’t know what I got, but you could assume what I got. I’m not gon’ be unreasonable but you gotta be fair. But right now, with the time being, we gon’ have fun.”
