Cardi B is firing back at those claiming that she stole the idea for her highly anticipated new single, “Up.”
>The Grammy award-winning rapper was met with criticism nearly immediately after the colorful music video “Up” was released Friday. New Jersey rappers Mir Peso and Mir Fontane tweeted a side by side video of their single, “Stuck,” and Cardi’s single, comparing the two. They claim that Cardi stole the hook from their song.

The Bardi Gang quickly came to her defense with receipts, seemingly proving that Cardi had already completed the song before Fontane released his single. Cardi also tweeted a video clip on the night that “WAP” was released, showing her singing what we now know to be the hook for “Up.” The clip was from August 7th, 2020.

Fontane fired back by saying that he previewed his song on August 6th.

Still, Cardi further disputed the claims, stating that she wouldn’t mind giving an artist credit if she had used any aspect of their song.
“Naaa im the type of person that avoids problems & court days .If i get inspired by a song I wouldn’t mind giving a percentage or couple of thousand but I never Hurd if this man .I’m glad while I was recording this song in August I was playing wit the hook on this live,” she tweeted.

A user asked Fontane if the sample was cleared, to which he replied that it wasn’t.

Pesos entered the war of words, demanding Cardi to pay them for allegedly sampling their single.

As of now, Cardi’s team has not issued an official statement on the matter, despite tweets suggesting a lawsuit could be coming her way.
