Where Are the Newports and Skittles? Cardi B Takes Aim at Los Angeles Over Its Shortcomings [Video]

Cardi B is not a fan of Los Angeles, and she has made no secret about it. 

The Bronx beauty aired several grievances with the city, beginning with the high taxes before dragging the single-use plastics ban. She cited that when ordering food from services such as DoorDash, spoons, and forks are not provided, a move that California implemented in 2022 to cut down on pollution. She then took aim at an even more pressing matter: the lack of Newport cigarettes. 

“They don’t got no f**kn’ Newports out here.  They don’t got no Newports. Motherf**kers got me smoking out of a motherf**kin’ iPod,” the “Bodak Yellow” rapper shouted.  California outlawed the sale of flavored tobacco products, including her cigarette of choice, back in 2022:

She then screamed, “And y’all can’t even eat f**kin’ Skittles!” While this is not the case, the West Coast state barred certain chemicals found in the candy and other foods. 

California is widely recognized as one of the most liberal states in the U.S., leading the charge in environmental protection and public health initiatives.  To safeguard its residents and ecosystems, California has introduced strict regulations to ban certain substances, including pesticides and plastics. Still, some of the initiatives have become a pain for Belcalis, who previously slammed the state as a whole and Los Angeles, particularly for its lack of good food.

Additionally, the newly single superstar expressed disdain for the 2:00 a.m. curfew, which prohibits anyone from buying alcohol after that time. 

“Y’all pay so much taxes, the least they could do is extend y’all curfew to 3:30 a.m,” she declared.
