Carmelo Anthony has announced his official retirement from NBA.
The ten-time All-Star announced his retirement after 19 years in the game in a video posted to Instagram, saying, “The time has come for me to say goodbye.”
Also, in the video, he shared a photo of his 5-year-old daughter Genesis and his 16-year-old son Kiyan who he referred to as his legacy.
In 2021-2022 he averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and one assist while shooting 44.1 percent from the floor and 37.5 percent from deep in 69 games with the Lakers.
He has scored over  28,289 points throughout his 19 seasons with six different teams.
Over the years, Carmelo has also played for the Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Lakers and Houston Rockets.
He has been dubbed one of the best players in the NBA during his prime.
