The nearly 4-year legal battle between #LilWayne, #Birdman, Cash Money Records, and Universal Music Group has ended in Weezy’s favor as he will be walking away with an eight-figure check.
The Blast reports that on May 23, Wayne’s attorney, Howard King, filed a notice with the court that all parties are ready to wash their hands clean of the lawsuit. While Birdman didn’t empty his own pockets, reports show Universal wrote a settlement check that was “well over $10 million.”
However, Universal claims the $10 million check wasn’t much to extend, as the company intends on getting that money right back from having artists like #Drake and #NickiMinaj. The relationship between Weezy and Baby is over, and now Universal is stepping in to finally push out Wayne’s long overdue album “Tha Carter V.”

Lil’ Wayne took Birdman’s label #CashMoneyRecords to court back in 2015 to end his record deal. The rapper claimed the label owed him tens of millions of dollars, an $8 million advance for “Tha Carter V” and another $2 million upon the album being finished. There are no details yet on the “Tha Carter V’s” release date.
