Chrisean Rock is being sued by singer James Wright months after she assaulted him at Tamar Braxton’s show.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Wright filed the documents in Los Angeles Superior Court. In the filing, Wright describes how Rock punched in the face and broke two of his teeth in the unprovoked November 2023 attack. Rock had been invited to Braxton’s show. However, there seemed to have been some miscommunication regarding whether Rock would be performing. This led to turmoil between the influencer and those working on Braxton’s show. Wright believed she was supposed to only hit the stage during the dance break of the show, and while speaking with Rock about this, she hit him in the face while wearing rings. After the assault, she was removed from the area where the assault happened but was heard calling Wright a homophobic slur on her way out.
“She hit him multiple times in the face for no reason at all. We were surprised that she was able to leave the facility that night. She had on rings that were pretty much equivalent to brass knuckles,” stated Wright’s attorney, Kevin Anderson.
It’s unknown if Rock will face criminal charges, but she could very likely be ordered to pay Wright a substantial amount of money. Rock has not yet responded publicly to the lawsuit, though she did share that she would be taking a vacation as news spread.
