The Factory, a West Hollywood gay bar, is suing Ciara for backing out of their L.A. Pride Week event that was supposed to go down tonight. The Factory alleges that Ciara signed a $10,000 deal to make an appearance at their club, while she was in town to perform at the main Pride event that weekend.Ā The Factory claims Ciara told themĀ that due to restrictions in her contract with the Pride parade, she wouldnāt be able to perform but she made it seem like it wouldnāt be a problem to make an “appearance.”
The FactoryĀ is claiming thatĀ CiaraĀ pulled the plug on the event on June 3 which left them without a celebrity for their hugeĀ Friday night pre-gay parade bash.Ā Ā āThe FactoryāĀ is suing Ciara for breach of contract and they want her to pay all the money they spent on promoting her appearance. Ā They also want her to foot the bill for all the money theyāre losing from her bailing.
A rep for Ciara says she backed out of the deal before a contract was signed. Ā According to Ciara’s rep, āCiaraās commitment to perform atĀ LA Gay PrideĀ on Saturday night prevented her from making such a Friday night appearance. Despite being notified early last week thatĀ CiaraĀ could not appear, the Factory continued to market and promote Ciaraās appearance.Ā The reason for the continued marketing/promotion is unclear, as it is not known why the Factory would intend to continue to mislead the public, to cause damage to the LA Gay Pride festival and to attempt to portray Ciara in a negative light.ā
