The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame has announced its class of 2019 nominees and it seems things haven’t looked more diverse.
Rapper LL Cool J has been nominated for the fifth time. Many believe that the rapper has been snubbed a number of times in the past and are calling for him to finally be inducted. If selected, Cool J would become just the seventh rapper to be inducted.
Singer Janet Jackson is also among this year’s nominees. This marks the third time that Jackson has been nominated along with Rufus featuring Chaka Khan.
Other nominees include Def Leppard, Devo, Prine, Roxy Music, Nicks and Rundgren, who are all first time nominees. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In order for artists to qualify to be nominated to be inducted into the Rock Hall, they must be 25 years post the release of their first song. At that point, ballots are sent to a committee of over 1000 journalists, artists, historians, and members of the music industry.
Acts and artists with the most votes will be announced at the end of this year and their induction ceremony will be held in March of 2019 at the Barclays Center.
