Cleveland Browns linebacker Devin Bush was arrested Sunday on charges of simple assault and harassment just outside of Philadelphia. The report surfaced this morning, and Bush posted bail immediately. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 20.
According to a police report obtained by ESPN, officers responded to a suburb of Pittsburgh where a woman identifying herself as Bush’s girlfriend claimed he took her car keys and assaulted her. The complaint alleges that Bush placed his full body weight on her and broke her phone.
Bush denied getting physical with her but did admit to breaking the phone. The tenth overall pick in the 2019 draft has played for three teams, most recently Cleveland. Over his career, he has appeared in 61 of 81 possible games, recording 299 tackles, two interceptions, and five sacks.
Most recently, Bush re-signed a one-year deal with the Browns worth $3.25 million, including $2.97 million guaranteed. His future will now be determined under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.
