D4vd Expected to Face Indictment in Celeste Rivas Murder as Grand Jury Prepares to Vote

The case tied to the death of Celeste Rivas is moving into a more serious phase, and sources say the legal pressure around singer D4vd is increasing.

Sources tell TMZ that the grand jury currently hearing testimony is expected to decide whether to issue indictments, not simply gather information. That clarification comes after earlier reports suggested the panel was an investigative grand jury, a type typically used to subpoena witnesses and compel testimony without voting on charges. According to those familiar with the proceedings, this grand jury is positioned to take the next step, and prosecutors are preparing to ask for an indictment connected to Rivas’ death.

Multiple sources say authorities believe D4vd was involved in the case and that murder charges are being considered. Prosecutor Beth Silverman is reportedly leading the effort before the grand jury as witnesses continue to be called.

Earlier this month, D4vd’s day-to-day manager, Robert Morgenroth, testified for several days. A TMZ reporter overheard Morgenroth speaking with his attorney in a courthouse hallway, where he described Silverman as “very pushy” during questioning about why police were not contacted. Morgenroth allegedly said he responded that it was not his responsibility and that his role was to make sure D4vd’s tour kept going.

Legal observers point out that grand juries often follow a prosecutor’s lead, in part because the subject of the investigation has no right to present a defense during the process. There has also been discussion that the grand jury could continue hearing witnesses into February, suggesting the timeline toward any indictment may be deliberate rather than immediate.
