Da Baby Sues “Vibez” Video Girl For Attempted Extortion, Wants Unspecified Damages

Da Baby Sues Over Extortion

Da Baby has filed a lawsuit against a video girl who he says is trying to extort him for money.

Da Baby and South Coast Music Group have filed a lawsuit against Marjorie Guaracho, according to documents obtained by The Blast. DaBaby hired a production company to produce his music video for his hit song “Vibez,” which was shot in Miami, Florida, on September 27, 2019. The production company hired a casting company to book video girls for the project.

The woman, Marjorie Guaracho, was one of the video girls who were hired to perform and paid $100. All women, including Guaracho, were told about the details of the video. DaBaby said there were more than 40 girls in the video, and Guaracho was only featured for less than two seconds.  The music received more than 41 million views on YouTube.

Guaracho filed a cease and desist letter to Baby’s label, Interscope, claiming they stole her performance and stated that she is demanding punitive damages and attorney fees. The rapper’s record label warned Da Baby that if the allegations are true, then it would be a breach of his “lucrative contract with Interscope Records.”

The model claimed DaBaby used footage of her to make it appear that she “endorses pornography,” and she said she was “shocked” after seeing the final product of the video. As a result, she demanded $75,000, but DaBaby says Guaracho’s money demand is a breach of contract and tortious interference. He says the model “breached her obligations under the release by the action described herein by making false claims to Interscope.”

Despite of her lawsuit, DaBaby plans on moving forward with distributing the music video and has expressed to the court that the model signed away her rights; he is suing the woman for unspecified damages.
