Freddy P, a former member of Diddy’s reality TV rap group Da Band, recently shared his thoughts on Diddy’s arrest during an interview with The Art of Dialogue, and he didn’t hold back. Reflecting on the news of Diddy’s indictment, Freddy expressed a mix of surprise and vindication, stating that the mogul’s legal issues were “long overdue.”

“When I heard about it, I was shocked, but at the same time, it felt like it was bound to happen,” Freddy said. He mentioned that while some people doubted Diddy would ever face legal repercussions, he always felt it was just a matter of time. “I told my brother, they got a chopper on him. They can put a chopper underground; they can hire Puff, but it’s been long overdue,” Freddy remarked.

Freddy explained that Diddy’s actions over the years forced the authorities to step in. “It got to the point where people were questioning if the feds were even doing their job. He got away with too much,” he stated. Despite his personal grievances with Diddy over financial issues, Freddy showed empathy for the victims involved. “A lot of stuff Puffy is going through, and I don’t wish bad on him. But it’s sensitive because there are a lot of victims here.”

Freddy reflected on Diddy’s struggle with his identity and the dual life he led. “He couldn’t let go of having power over street dudes and being who he is in the industry,” Freddy explained. “Everything he’s going through right now is because he couldn’t live his truth. The more he tried to hide, the worse it got.”

Freddy touched on the power dynamic Diddy had over many in the industry, describing how he allegedly preyed on vulnerable artists. “Imagine Puffy, playboy, telling these artists who were struggling financially, ‘Don’t worry about it, come with me to the island, playboy.’ He’d offer them things to keep up their lifestyle,” Freddy said. “I know personally about rappers who got secrets because they fell into those situations with Puffy.”

He mentioned that he knew many of the rumors circulating about Diddy for a long time. “I been knew about the girl who came out. She was just scared to tell her story for a long time,” he shared, adding that there’s more to come. “The more that comes out, the more intriguing the story will be.”

Freddy also hinted at an upcoming Netflix series by a rapper, which he believes will shed even more light on Diddy’s controversial actions. “I don’t want to spoil anything, but he’s doing a phenomenal job. There are so many people hurt by this, and when that documentary comes out, it’s going to shock everyone,” he teased.

Despite his criticism, Freddy expressed a complicated mixture of emotions, stating that he still has some level of respect for Diddy. “I don’t like the man, but I still got love for him,” Freddy admitted. “I wouldn’t be here right now if it wasn’t for him. He saw something in me when there were 40,000 other people.”

Freddy closed by reflecting on his own journey and the lessons he’s learned from his experience with Diddy. “I dedicated my time to a situation to provide for my family. I was really dedicated, but in the end, what I learned was he was only playing with us,” he said. “That doesn’t mean I hate him. But it does mean I know the truth.”

As the fallout from Diddy’s arrest continues, it’s clear that his actions have left a trail of unresolved pain and complicated feelings for many who were once in his inner circle. Freddy P’s words are a testament to that struggle.
