Daniel Radcliffe says he’s not that “interested” in starring in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie.
It’s been a little over a decade since we’ve seen Radcliffe, 32, star in the popular Harry Potter franchise. His last film was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. And it doesn’t look like he has plans to return to his career-changing character any time soon.
During an interview with The New York Times for Lost City, in which Radcliffe stars alongside Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock, Radcliffe shared that he’s in a good place in his acting career and that Cursed Child isn’t something he’s “really interested in doing right now.”
“This isn’t the answer that anybody’s going to want, but I think I was so able to go back and enjoy it because it’s not a part of my day-to-day life anymore,” Radcliffe shared, Hypebeast reports. “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of ‘Potter’ okay and I’m really happy with where I am now, and to go back would be such a massive change to my life.”
Radcliffe said his return could likely come in another couple of decades. “I’m never going to say never, but the Star Wars guys had like 30, 40 years before they went back. For me, it’s only been 10. It’s not something I’m really interested in doing right now,” said the actor.
