Popular Mixtapes Site DatPiff Says It Is Here To Stay Following Shut Down Rumors

Despite rumors of a shutdown, DatPiff says it’s not happening. “We promise, we are still here,” the site said.

On Monday, Twitter users went wild with tributes for the site, but the audio distribution platform responded with its own tweet, saying, “Despite the rumors, we are happy to report that we will still be supplying you with all the mixtapes you love. We’re working through technical issues on our site and app, but still, actively update our youtube! Thanks for all the love and concerns but we promise, we are still here.”

A popular post on a subreddit claimed that “development and support for the website and app ended sometime back in 2020” and that datpiff.com “no longer responds,” following an 18-year run.

It was also reported that DatPiff received several complaints over technical issues with its iOS app.

DatPiff is or was a staple in hip-hop, which is why so many flocked to give it its flowers.

“DatPiff held us DOWN. Forever in debt,” one user tweeted.

“Pioneers of the mixtape era. Thank you for shaping the culture in the 2000s and changing the music industry forever…,” another tweeted.

But after the platform made its announcement, many calmed down. “DatPiff is forever,” a user posted.
