Shark Tank star Daymond John opened up about all of the people he has lost to COVID-19.
In an interview with survivornet.com, John said that he had lost at least 57 people to the virus during the coronavirus pandemic. Eight of them he knew personally, including actor Tommy “Tiny” Lister.
“There are 57 people I can’t call. They are no longer around. That is a fact; they cannot answer the phone. They’re dead. These people are no longer here,” he told the outlet. He is encouraging others to get vaccinated if they have not already done so.
John also spoke about his own battle with the virus, revealing that he did get vaccinated. But about a month and a half ago, he wasn’t feeling well and tested positive.
“I wouldn’t even have paid attention except that I just couldn’t taste things,” he said. He felt like he just had a head cold.
The new season of Shark Tank is scheduled to debut on October 8. This season, the pitches involve entrepreneurs that were affected by the pandemic.
