Delaware Daycare Worker Charged With Murder For Suffocating A Crying Baby

A Delaware daycare worker has been charged with murder after surveillance video showed her covering a baby’s mouth for more than three minutes because she wouldn’t stop crying, according to police reports.

According to New York Post, Dejoynay Ferguson, 19, allegedly placed the baby in the crib and waited about 20 minutes before reporting the incident at Little People Child Development Center in Bear.

Police stated that Ferguson “placed her hands over the victim’s mouth and nose and intentionally restricted her breathing until she became unresponsive.”

Ferguson was charged with first-degree murder and held on $1 million cash bond. As for the daycare, their license was suspended indefinitely, according to police.
