Just days after his first-ever defeat, Deontay Wilder is demanding yet another rematch against the self-proclaimed “Gypsy King” Tyson Fury.
On Monday, Wilder’s fiancée, Telli Swift, released a statement in the wake of Wilder’s loss to Fury in a 7th round TKO, saying, “#WilderFury3 here we come.”
Though Wilder has yet to comment on the possibility of a rematch, the boxer has a rematch clause in his contract, and apparently, he’s ready to put it into motion, according to Swift.
“Deontay, you showed us what Strength, Passion, and Courage looks like. You showed the world what it takes to Be A Champion,” Swift wrote. “Most people have no idea just how hard you train, the blood, sweat, and tears you put into this sport for other people’s entertainment… One moment in time does not define your legacy, your legacy is created throughout time, and we will continue to do just that.”
“Continue to give God the glory so we can get back our belt,” she said, adding, “WilderFury 3 here we come.”
If that wasn’t enough, Fury also revealed that he would be open to a rematch if he were to win on Saturday – which he did. So, a rematch may very well be in the cards. If so, this will be the third time the two dukes it out, after the 2018 split-decision draw and Fury’s 2020 win.
