Desiree Perez has asked a Florida court to find her daughter, Demoree Hadley, in contempt for allegedly violating a judge’s order that restricted public comments about an ongoing lawsuit involving Roc Nation.
The request follows Hadley’s appearance in an interview with YouTuber Tasha K, which was later shared through Hadley’s Instagram account.
According to Roc Nation, that interview and the social media post directly violated a special court order intended to keep both Hadley and her husband from making public statements about the case.
Hadley filed the lawsuit in May 2025, accusing her mother and Roc Nation of arranging her involuntary psychiatric commitment through Florida’s Baker and Marchman Acts. She alleges Perez falsely portrayed her as a danger to herself, citing drug use and suicidal behavior, in order to detain her for more than two weeks.
In response to the suit, Roc Nation obtained a court order barring both Hadley and her husband from speaking publicly or posting about the matter online. The company now argues that Hadley not only violated that order by participating in the interview but also allowed it to be promoted on Instagram, drawing public attention to the case.
In court filings, Roc Nation stated that Hadley “affirmatively violated this Court’s Special Order and publicize[d] an interview she gave about this case to further influence public perception.”
Hadley told the court that the post was not intentional. She said Tasha K added her as a collaborator on the video, which automatically placed it on her profile. According to Hadley, she removed the video from her page the same day.
Roc Nation disputes that explanation. The company claimed the move was deliberate, stating, “There is no way it would appear on her account unless Demoree made that choice.”
The company also raised concerns about the consequences of the interview and related posts.
According to attorney Timothy A. Kolaya, the situation escalated quickly. “Hadley and her husband’s inappropriate social media posts have created an untenable reality for multiple Defendants as well as their counsel, who face daily threats as a consequence of their conduct,” he wrote.
Court documents also claim that Hadley forwarded the interview to a social media influencer who reposted it. Her husband allegedly reshared the content as well.
As public reaction to the lawsuit intensifies, rapper Nicki Minaj has voiced her support for Hadley. Minaj has publicly accused Perez and Roc Nation of using similar tactics against her, adding more fuel to an already tense family and legal conflict.
Roc Nation has asked the court to issue a contempt ruling against Hadley for ignoring the judge’s directive.
