A former hotel security guard just dropped a bombshell in court, claiming Diddy paid him six figures to make damning footage of the rapper beating ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura disappear.
Eddy Garcia told jurors Tuesday that in March 2016, while working at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, he was pulled into a cover-up.
“He said, ‘Happy Easter. You are my angel. God is good. God put you in my life for a reason,’” Garcia testified, recalling a phone call from Diddy after their $100,000 deal.
The disturbing footage, which Garcia believed to be the only copy, showed Diddy violently attacking Cassie. Diddy allegedly told Garcia the video “would ruin him.” He added, “[Combs] was just saying he had a little too much to drink. With women, one thing leads to another…”
Garcia said Diddy’s team tracked him down and pressured him into turning over the footage. When Garcia said he didn’t have access, Diddy insisted, “he would take care of me.” That translated to $100K in cash, counted and stuffed into a brown paper bag.
“He referred to me as ‘Eddy, my angel,’” Garcia said, explaining how the mogul seemed “excited” once he agreed to hand over the footage.
Garcia signed a strict NDA with a $1 million penalty and admitted he didn’t read it fully.
“The goal was to get out of there as soon as possible.”
The video resurfaced in 2024. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
