A former personal assistant to Sean “Diddy” Combs took the stand this week in his ongoing federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial, revealing painful details of alleged abuse and years of emotional manipulation. Testifying under the alias “Mia,” the woman said she continued sending affectionate messages to the music mogul years after her job ended because she was “brainwashed” and confused.
Mia testified that Diddy raped her after forcibly kissing and groping her at his 40th birthday party. She says the assaults were unpredictable and spaced out, leaving her unsure whether they’d ever happen again. She described feeling isolated, ashamed, and unable to process what had happened, even staying silent after longtime friend Cassie sued Diddy for similar abuse in 2023.
The trial, now in its fourth week, has featured emotional testimony from Mia as the second of three primary witnesses. She told jurors that she’s been in therapy and is still trying to “untangle” years of trauma. Prosecutors say Diddy used his power in the music industry to intimidate and exploit women, while his legal team claims the case is part of a “money grab.”
Throughout cross-examination, Diddy’s lawyer challenged Mia with old text messages and implied her allegations were financially motivated. Despite the aggressive line of questioning, she stood firm, insisting she’s telling the truth and speaking out now because others came forward first.
Mia also admitted she didn’t immediately tell prosecutors everything when first contacted in early 2024, saying shame and fear kept her silent. Her delay in opening up has been used by the defense to question her credibility, but prosecutors argue it’s a common pattern among abuse survivors.
The judge has warned the defense against excessive probing into Mia’s personal communications, especially her social media. Prosecutors say the aggressive tactics risk silencing other victims who may fear being humiliated in court.
The third and final key witness, known only as “Jane,” is expected to testify later this week. Diddy, who has pleaded not guilty, remains a central figure in what could be one of the most high-profile trials involving a major music executive in recent history.
