Diddy was honored for his thoughtful gesture of giving back through a generous donation to the We the Best Foundation.
On Saturday, DJ Khaled shared a “donation alert” on Instagram, announcing the proceeds from We the Best Foundation’s inaugural golf tournament held in Miami earlier this week.
“Donation alert! That’s right, Sean Combs, Puff Daddy, Diddy, donating $150K to We the Best Foundation. Biggest donation alert. Let’s go,” Khaled said.
“Bless up, my brother. Family for life. Sean Combs, Puff Daddy, Diddy, he came in right there with the biggest donation for the foundation — We the Best Foundation — from Sean Combs Foundation,” he added. “Diddy, we appreciate you. Thank you for this. Kids are gonna love it. The young world’s gonna love it. The community’s gonna love it. You always do this. You did this now. You’ve been doing this forever, for decades and we appreciate you for all the supporting and helping everybody. We love you.”
Outside of his philanthropic duties, Diddy is still involved in a legal dispute with spirits company Diageo. In May, Diddy filed a lawsuit against Diageo, alleging racial discrimination, claiming that the company promoted his DeLeón brand as an exclusively “urban” and “Black” tequila, which restricted its potential audience.
In response to the lawsuit, Diageo decided to sever all ties with Diddy, denouncing the legal action as a fraudulent claim. Additionally, the company accused Diddy of making a meager contribution of $1,000 to their business partnership, despite Diageo reportedly generating profits exceeding $1 billion.
