DJ Mustard denies leaving his ex-wife Chanel Thierry financially unstable following their separation.
In a court filing, Mustard claims Thierry has been making their divorce process difficult with her allegations and demands. Earlier this month, Thierry said it has been “extremely difficult” getting Mustard to agree to anything “that would benefit the children and not himself.” As a result, Thierry filed a motion requesting more than $80,000 a month in child support.
However, the record producer fired back at Thierry’s claims and said he’s been covering his ex-wife and his children’s living expenses since the divorce.
“From the time Chanel and I separated in May 2022, I continued to uphold my obligation to support her and the children. I continued to pay all of Chanel’s living expenses, including all of her credit card bills. I also continued paying Chanel’s housing costs and the children’s expenses including private school tuition,” Mustard said in his filing.
In addition, Mustard said he has continued to pay his children’s medical, educational, extracurricular activities, and voluntary child support.
“Finally, I have also paid 100 percent of our agreed-upon spousal support buy-out of $315,000 in accordance with the terms of the Premarital Agreement,” he added.
Mustard also believes Thierry is disregarding their joint parenting plan and is “holding him out to the public in a false and defamatory light.”
Nevertheless, Mustard is seeking joint legal and physical custody of his minor children, including having equal rights to make important educational and medical decisions.
The former couple is expected to appear back in court on February 1st.
