Don Lemon returned to “CNN This Morning” Wednesday, almost a week after comments he made while discussing Nikki Haley sparked backlash.
TMZ reports that following the incident, the network issued its final warning and reportedly said Lemon would be removed from air should he again insult his cohosts or create a toxic environment (on or off-air).
As of Wednesday, Don has returned to his job after agreeing to participate in some formal training in addition to agreeing to the terms. While he did not address the situation on the show, he did tweet out another apology before the start of the show.
“I appreciate this opportunity to be back on CNN This Morning today,” Lemon wrote on Twitter. “To my network, my colleagues and our incredible audience — I’m sorry. I’ve heard you. I’m learning from you, and I’m committed to doing better. See you soon.”
As previously reported, Lemon’s found himself in hot water Thursday after saying 51-year-old Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is not “in her prime.” He later apologized after his comments went viral online.
CNN said Monday Lemon would return after agreeing to participate in formal training.
