Donald Trump said during a rally in Selma, North Carolina, that he is one of the most honest people on the planet.
“I’ve got to be the cleanest sheriff,” Trump said Saturday. “I think I’m the most honest human being, perhaps, that God ever created.”
According to Newsweek, Trump made the comment in response to a story in which a friend allegedly commended him on how “clean” his administration had been.
“You know, you’ve been investigated years and years, millions and millions of pages of documents, they found nothing,” the friend said, according to Trump.
“I’ve been investigated by the Democrats more the Billy the Kid, Jessie James, and Al Capone combined,” Trump told the crowd.
Trump is the first president to be impeached twice.
During his presidency, he has made over 30,573 false or misleading claims.
According to The Washington Post, he told an average of 21 lies a day.
