The holiday weekend took an aggressive turn on Sunday morning, when Donald Trump used Truth Social to deliver a final, profanity heavy warning to Iran.
As the international community watches the economic fallout of the U.S.-led war, Trump announced that he is finished with patience regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump specifically targeted the country’s infrastructure for his next phase of military action, posting, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran,” before adding, “There will be nothing like it!!!”
The Strait of Hormuz, a critical bottleneck for global oil, has remained the central point of contention since fighting broke out on February 28. Trump made his demand for the waterway to be cleared explicit and blunt, “Open the F—in’ Strait, you crazy b——s, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH!” He capped off the heated message with the unexpected sign-off, “Praise be to Allah.”
This declaration signals an end to the temporary hold he had placed on striking Iran’s energy and water resources, which was initially meant to facilitate diplomatic talks.
With that negotiating window officially closing on Monday, April 6, the pressure is at an all-time high. Trump had previously outlined his terms on Saturday, April 4, writing, “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out.”
With the clock now down to the final hours, Trump’s tone is nothing short of ominous. He closed his Saturday message with a warning that the window for peace is rapidly slamming shut: “48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!”
