Doug Martin

Doug Martin, a former NFL running back known for his impressive moves on the field with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has died at the age of 36. His family confirmed his passing, stating, “It is with great sadness to inform you all that Doug Martin passed away Saturday morning. Cause of death is currently unconfirmed. Please respect our privacy at this time.”

Martin made a name for himself at Boise State University, where he stood out as a dynamic runner for four years. In 2012, he was drafted in the first round by the Buccaneers. Over six seasons in Tampa Bay, he earned two Pro Bowl selections and was named All-Pro in 2015.

Nicknamed “Muscle Hamster” for his compact but powerful build, Martin was a fan favorite. He ended his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders during the 2018-2019 season.

In seven seasons, Martin racked up 5,356 rushing yards and scored 30 rushing touchdowns. He also added over 1,200 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns to his stats.

His death has come as a shock to the sports world, with tributes pouring in from fans across social media. The Bucs also remembered Martin, calling him a “fan favorite” during his time with the team.
