Drake recently combined his love of fashion with his support for Young Thug, who is caught up in a RICO case.
The Canadian rapper shared a photo on his Instagram on Friday, sporting a custom hoodie featuring Thugger’s Jeffrey album cover. Behind the embattled rapper is a red, white, and blue map of the United States, and he is holding the American flag.
“STOP RICO,” the sweatshirt says in big, bold red letters.
The post is captioned, “3 the guys out the you know…”
Drake and Young Thug have collaborated on numerous songs over the years. They recently teamed up on two tracks for Thug’s BUSINESS IS BUSINESS album, “Oh U Went” and “Parade on Cleveland.” The pair dropped a video to “Oh U Went” a couple of weeks ago.
As for Young Thug, he was recently denied bond for the fourth time last month. He is still awaiting trial on gang-related charges as part of a RICO indictment. He was one of 28 individuals named in the indictment.
Judge Ural Glanville ruled that Thugger’s release would pose a threat to the community. The judge said he feared there could be witness intimidation if the rapper was to be released.
Young Thug’s lawyer disputes those claims, saying that his client is not a flight risk or at risk of committing further crimes, according to NBC News.
