Since Jimmy Butler’s dramatic exit from the Miami Heat, it seems like we’re hearing more and more criticism from former Miami Heat players. Udonis Haslem spoke last week on ESPN about Butler’s no-show performance, attempting just seven shots in an elimination game with Steph Curry sidelined.

The latest to join the criticism train of Butler was arguably the greatest Miami Heat player ever—Dwyane Wade. Speaking on his podcast about Butler’s ceiling, he questioned his consistency.
“I think the thing with Jimmy is, I didn’t like how he approached the game,” Wade said on the WY Network. “Like, I know Jimmy is a pass-first guy, I know he’s about getting his teammates the ball and letting them shine. But there’s a point where you’re getting $60 million—this ain’t working. You gotta go. He won’t look at the basket, and I said this before. So when Pat comes out and says we don’t want to give you an extension, it’s not always injury—I need to see what you’ll do in every moment.”
A valid point from an NBA Hall of Famer, Butler’s lack of aggression is the reason Golden State is home now. Innately, some players will always be stuck in their ways. Take a look at Dwyane Wade on his podcast giving his full explanation on Butler’s expectations and his play.
