Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, two widely talked-about billionaires, might face off. But where?
TMZ reported Thursday that Italy’s Minister of Culture had contacted Zuckerberg regarding the possibility of hosting a UFC fight at the Colosseum in Rome. Sources close to the situation also claimed that both Zuckerberg and Musk “would love” for the showdown to take place at the historic amphitheater.
However, following the news, Italy’s Ministry of Culture’s Office issued a statement saying, “There has been no formal contact from the ministry nor any written document, even if the news appears tasty it is unfounded.”
They added, “If Zuckerberg and Musk wanted to perform in the Colosseum they would have to make a non-violent challenge.”
So it is currently unclear whether the proposed UFC fight between the two tech figures will be taking place if it was to happen at all.
UFC president Dana White insists that both men are “absolutely dead serious” about the fight.
In an interview with TMZ earlier this month, White stated that he believed this might be the “biggest fight ever in the history of the world.”
